About Me

I grew up in the service industry with an entrepreneurial spirit.  My Dad owned and ran a fast food restaurant for the first 26 years of my life.  My mom worked there, raised me (actively, I might add) and ran a cake decorating and Avon business.  I started working at the restaurant at the age of 13.  Not because I had to but because I wanted to earn my own money that I could use how I saw fit (insert my early love of glitter nail polish and platform shoes here).  I learned early on the value of hard work, taking pride in what you do and taking no shit.  My parents always supported me.

I graduated with high honors from high school and went to my local technical college for my associates degree.  I learned from the man who created the Clemson Tiger Paw logo (he also worked on the Marlboro Man campaign, come fly the friendly skies!, you've come a longway baby, etc).  John Antonio was instrumental in molding my young mind.  When my friends went off to their 4 year colleges to get their Bachelors, I went into the work force.  "You go pay to learn for two more years.  I'll be getting paid while I learn on the job those two years."  That shows you my mentality.  I worked in various design positions- with large agencies and in house agencies before leaving in July of 2009 to go it on my own.  I've never looked back.

I met the love of my life at my dad's restaurant when I was 17 and we've now been married for 9 years.  I'm a dog mom to a Rat Terrier mix named SheRa. I love cocktails (I'm an Old-Fashioned kind of girl), shoes, pinterest, blaring my music, mid century modern, driving winding roads and speaking my mind.

You won't find pink peonies, rose gold paper clips or a "Lady Boss" Mug on this Solopreneur's desk.  Instead you'll find a Day Planner with barely legible notes, a stress ball, and, if I'm honest, coffee rings and maybe a few crumbs.  You'll also find bright red paper flowers, my dad's old typewriter, a wide assortment of pens and a drawing of Joan Holloway.  My brand is passionate, fierce, fun and creative.

What's yours?
